A bowl of lemons (or limes or oranges?)

My new guest room is still a work in progress, but the new twin bed is in place, bookshelves are up, and my cats have found a new favorite place to sleep. I still need to work on the set-up in there - my exacting measurements were, well, not so exact, and the file cabinet is currently floating around a bit looking for its proper place.

Now that I'm in disarray, this is the perfect time to paint my living room. Right?! I've been debating colors in there. My couch is tan, my throw pillows are vibrant green, my entertainment center/dresser is a mustard yellow, my side chair a green/mustardish plaid, and my floor is wood with a sisal rug. It's a little too bland. I need some pops of color. I want to keep with the citrus colors, so now comes the question of wall color - yellow, green, or orange? I've found some greens I like, but now I'm thinking a pale lemon yellow instead. Thoughts? I need a little inspiration. Need to start going through all those design magazines I've been keeping around for a rainy day...

Orange! Definitely orange! But maybe just an accent wall? Now that It hink about it, 4 orange walls might be a bit much...

My vote is for lemons! I'm currently going through the same dilemma in my living room. Something about CH coming home in a few weeks has my nesting mode on overdrive!

As someone who has painted 4 rooms in her house I do warn you that the color are a lot darker (or brighter depending on the shade) than you would think from a color card. I ended up buying small samples and actually painting a large square to make sure I liked the color. Jeremy ended up having to paint a room twice because I hated the first color so much. But it looked so good on the color card! So spend a little extra and buy a small can of paint. It could save you a ton of time!

I've always wanted an orange room, ever since I saw a great kind of burnt orange dining room on Trading Spaces. When I first bought my condo I really thought about painting my living room Pumpkin, but ended up going with a Lenox Tan. I did however paint my bedroom a crazy green. I agree with Stacey that those little samples can be very helpful. And I finally got my kitchen pumpkin/coralish! A splash of color does liven everything up!
