can of worms

My friend Janet, an avid photographer and all-around artsy gal, suggested I create an account in Flickr. Can of worms is now open. I spent a good number of hours this weekend (between a visit with Grandma and going away party for a dear friend) uploading some of my photographs onto my own page. I have a lot of photos still left to go through, and I'm not sure how good I'll be about keeping the page updated, but it has been a lot of fun revisiting over a year's worth of photographs I have lying around (or still on the camera taking up precious space!).

Here are a couple from this summer. A wonderful summer twilight sky and a bouquet with chinese lanterns that I grew in my garden. I still have those bright lanterns sitting in a vase on my kitchen windowsill (they dry beautifully).

I'm thinking about uploading my photos to Flickr as well because Snapfish now makes you pay for downloads. But I've heard good thing about Picasso too...

I use Picasa. I don't really understand Flickr, is it just like Picasa? It seems like anyone can look at the photos you post, is that true? Please, someone explain.

G, I am looking at your photos. You really have a gift you know - you are a fantastic photographer!

I'm still learning, but you can set it so that only your "contacts" can view your photos or specific photos if you want a bit more privacy with personal photos. I don't have any like that right now so no big deal.

Is the groovy dusk sky at the bluegrass concert we went to? Cool photo! I love Japanese lanterns - are they easy to grow?
