getting a gardener's tan

Yesterday I did three incredibly enjoyable things: I walked to the farmers' market, I worked in the garden, and I attended a baby shower for good friend L. A lovely, lovely day.

I have since realized that my foray in the garden has left me with a bit of a sunburn. Despite it being cold enough to wear a fleece in the morning for my walk to the market, I did end up working in my shirt sleeves in the garden. I should have put on sunscreen and know better. Very bad. Now have a lovely pinkish hue running up and down my arms from wrist to bicep (thanks to my gardening gloves). Instead of a farmer's tan is this a gardener's tan?

I need to download some pictures off my camera before I can share with you the progress in the garden. The borage is going crazy; the pentas are spreading like wildfire (am thinking of relocating them because of it); and I planted some herbs and greens.

When I went to bed last night I had to take a little pain reliever to be able to sleep - my forearms were killing me from weeding. A good pain, though. Plus, my new squishy down alternative pillows certainly helped. And today promises to be another gorgeous one. I'm off to Grandma's in an hour to do a little shopping, a little eating, and some old lady gossiping.

The farmers market, gardening and time with friends in one day?

YOU, my friend, have your life in balance. Good for you!
