coming home

While we didn't have the best Thanksgiving this year, it was nice to be together for the holiday.  A viewing, a funeral, going through my grandmother's clothes, and finally getting back on the plane to come home.  The sun was brilliant on Saturday morning when I flew home.  For the leg from Dallas to Richmond, I was bumped up to first class (I think because I was classified as bereavement) and I must say it was a nice gesture.  Roomy seat, cloth napkin, and a real glass glass for my ice water.  Made the journey a little better.

When I finally arrived home, the beau greeted me at the airport and proceeded to surprise me with an after-Thanksgiving feast (complete with tablecloth, Tofurkey, and homemade sweet potato pudding).  So sweet.  And now it is back to normal - trying to catch back up at work and looking forward to Christmas.  Need to make my shopping list and get the decorations out of the attic.  Hope you all enjoyed your holiday weekend!

So sorry to hear about your grandmother. I saw the family picture so I'm glad you were at least all together. I hope you can take a day off to rest up some.

P.S. That beau of yours...priceless.

While I'm sorry that your family gathered together under such sad circumstances, it seems as though you all made the best of it. I'm so glad that I was able to see you before you had to leave!

Hug! These events do seem to bring into focus what really matters.
