Happy New Year!
Needless to say, we had a great time at the 80s prom, where we danced like crazy, drank some beers, sang along to great songs, and watched all the dressed-up drunks toddle about. I spent a total of $6.99 (well, plus tax) on aqua/black fishnets to go with my leftover bridesmaids outfit: a hot pink strapless cocktail dress from my friend Cathy's wedding and long black gloves from my friend Kristin's wedding. Pictures? Sadly no (too dark in the venue), but here's the dress hanging at the ready. Oh, and I also wore two long strands of blue and pearl beads from Mardi Gras back in college. That's a whole 'nother story (right Krissy and Einat?).
In addition to dancing our butts off, we also hosted a brunch for friends on NYE day, had amazing pizza with mushrooms, olives, and capers from 8 1/2, watched the first few episodes of True Blood, and took a nice long walk around Belle Isle (so pretty - here you see the view from the footbridge crossing over the James River onto the island).

Ah, those beads bring back memories. I never keep anything so mine are long gone - I'm glad you've repurposed yours in a more respectable manner.
